Ad attribution

There's nothing to set up here — this isn't a feature of your AI agent. It's a short, honest note about what Talkybara records when you first land on our site, because you're entitled to know.

What this is not

This page is not about tracking where your callers came from, and there is no ad-attribution feature in your dashboard. Nothing described here is configurable, and nothing here is switched on or off by you.

If what you're after is insight into your own callers — new versus returning over time, when they ring, what they convert on — that's the Analytics page, on Full analytics. See Picking a plan.

What's actually recorded

When you first arrive at talkybara.com, we record how you got here so we can tell which of our own advertising is worth paying for. Three small cookies, all set on your first visit and kept for 90 days:

WhatWhy
A click identifier, if you arrived from an adSo the advertising platform that showed you the ad can be told it worked.
Your first visit — the page you landed on, where you came from, and any campaign tags in the linkWritten once and never overwritten, so an organic first visit is recorded honestly as organic.
Your most recent visit — the same details againUpdated whenever you arrive from somewhere new.

If you signed up, those details are attached to your account so that later milestones — your trial starting, your trial converting to a paid plan — can be credited back to however you originally found us.

Why it's recorded at signup rather than later

The events worth measuring happen long after you've stopped browsing. A trial that converts on day 14 does so during a payment event with no browser involved at all — no page, no cookies, nothing left to work out where you came from.

So the connection has to be made while you're still on the site. Signup is the last moment your account and your visit details exist at the same time, which is why that's where it happens.

What isn't done

  • No advertising tracker runs on Talkybara pages. The record is kept on our side, not built by a script in your browser watching what you do.
  • No browser identifier is invented for you. Nothing is fabricated to make you easier to match.
  • Nothing about your callers is involved. Your call records, transcripts, contacts and appointments are not part of this and are never reported anywhere.
  • No audience building. This measures whether our own advertising worked; it isn't used to target you or anyone else.

Your customers' data stays your customers' data

This is the important boundary, so it's worth stating outright: everything above is about your visit to our website before you signed up. Nothing your AI agent ever hears, records or stores is part of it.
