Resetting your password

Two different problems with two different answers: you know your email but not your password, or you don't remember which email address you signed up with.

Forgotten password

  1. 1On the login page, click Forgot password?
  2. 2Enter the email address on your account.
  3. 3Open the reset link we email you, and choose a new password.

You'll see the same confirmation whether or not that address has an account, so the page never reveals which email addresses are registered. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder — and make sure you used the exact address you signed up with.

Reset links are single-use and expire. If yours has gone stale, just request another.

Forgotten which email you used

More common than you'd think, especially on an account set up a while ago or by someone else in the business.

  1. 1Go to Forgot email? from the login page.
  2. 2Enter the personal phone number on your account — the mobile you verified in Account Settings, not your business number and not your Talkybara number.
  3. 3We text your login email address to that number.
  4. 4Log in with it, using Forgot password? too if you need to.

The match has to be exact, and the number has to have been verified. Again, the confirmation message is identical whether or not anything matched — it will always say that if the number is on file, a text has been sent.

Only works if you verified a personal phone number

This is the single best reason to verify one now, while you still have access: Account Settings → Profile. Without it there's no self-serve route back in at all.

If the text doesn't arrive

Two likely reasons, and neither is something that page can tell you about:

  • That number has replied STOP to a Talkybara text before. Opting out applies to every kind of text from us, including this one — so a number that stopped call-summary texts also can't receive a recovery text. See Post-call SMS summaries.
  • The number on file has changed since it was verified.

Either way the answer is the same: email support directly. The forgot-email page carries that link for exactly this case, because the in-dashboard support page is no use to someone who can't sign in.

There's also a limit of 3 attempts per number per 15 minutes, so nobody can use this to bombard a phone with texts. If you've been trying repeatedly, wait fifteen minutes before the next attempt.

Changing your password when you're already signed in

Use the same Forgot password? flow — it works whether or not you're logged in, and it's the only way to set a new one.

Changing the email address on your account

Account Settings → Profile. You'll be asked to confirm the new address before the change takes effect, so a typo can't lock you out. Note that this also changes where every Talkybara email goes.

Still locked out

Email support@talkybara.com from whatever address you have, with your business name and your Talkybara phone number so we can find the account. See Contacting support & your security PIN.

One account per email

Don't sign up again under a different address to get back in — that creates a genuinely separate account, and your existing call history, contacts and settings stay behind on the original one with no way to move them across.

Still stuck?

Open Help & Support in your dashboard to send us a message — we'll reply to the email on your account, usually within a day. You can also email support@talkybara.com.
