Understanding your bill

A flat monthly plan price, plus extra minutes only if you've opted into them. That's the whole model — there are no per-call fees, setup fees or hidden line items.

What you're charged

  • Your plan, monthly — $39 Starter, $99 Growth, $199 Scale. Includes 50, 200 or 500 minutes respectively.
  • Extra minutes, if you've turned overage on — billed per minute at your plan's rate. Off by default, so this line simply doesn't exist for most accounts.
  • $5 if you change your phone number — a one-off charge, only when you do it.

There is nothing else. No per-call charge, no per-minute charge inside your allowance.

Overage rates

PlanIncludedExtra minutes
Starter — $39/mo50$0.49/min
Growth — $99/mo200$0.39/min
Scale — $199/mo500$0.29/min

The rate drops as the plan goes up, so consistently running over on Starter is usually a sign that Growth would be cheaper as well as simpler.

How minutes are counted

Rounded up to the whole minute, per call. A 25-second call uses one minute; a 70-second call uses two.

Per call, not per month — twenty 30-second calls is twenty minutes, not ten. Worth knowing if your callers are typically brief.

Your usage period runs roughly 30 days from when you signed up, not calendar months.

Two things that never cost you minutes

Browser test calls come from a separate 15-minute monthly pool. And bonus minutes, if support has added any to your account, are used before your included minutes and before any overage.

Finding your invoices

Open Billing from the sidebar. That takes you to a secure billing page where you can:

  • Download every past invoice
  • Update the card on file
  • Change your billing address and tax details
  • Change or cancel your plan

Your card details are handled there and are never stored by Talkybara.

Reading a bill with extra minutes on it

Overage appears as its own usage line alongside the flat plan price, priced at your plan's rate. It's metered as calls happen rather than added by hand at the end of the month, so the number on the invoice should match what your usage gauge showed.

If the two disagree, remember the per-call rounding — a month of short calls uses more minutes than the raw talk time suggests.

Changing what you pay

Upgrading, downgrading and cancelling are all self-serve from Billing. Each takes effect at a different point — see Upgrading, downgrading, and canceling. To stop extra minutes being billed at all, see Turning overage on or off.

If something looks wrong

Check your usage gauge and your call log first — the call count and each call's duration are both there, so a surprising number is usually explainable from the log.

If it still doesn't add up, contact support with the invoice date. See Contacting support & your security PIN.
